I’m always looking for inspiration when creating my sculptures. Sometimes it comes from a thought or picture in my mind, other times it comes from the shape of the stone I’ve chosen to work on. I enter numerous art exhibitions which have a theme. This gives me another route to follow for my next sculpture.
This I present this month was inspired by the theme “Under the Sea”. A fish immediately came to mind but what medium would I use? I chose fused glass and began creating the sculpture. As I progressed it was becoming more whimsical and colorful.
Then final result would become “Le poisson”.
The exhibition I entered last December was held at the Center for Visual Arts in Bonita Springs and the sculpture was awarded third prize.
