In my second week of teaching sculpture at the Marco Island Center for the Arts in Florida, I began a demonstration for my students on a soap stone. It started out as an irregular shaped stone ,which is my favorite stone  to sculpt because the possiblities are endless. As I carved the stone a shape evolved and « ‘’Flying’’ » emerged.
