This month’s sculpture represents a celestial object.
I chose a stone which would capture the essence of my creative idea, a heavenly body. The stone was orange alabaster.
I envisioned a fiery object passing through the cosmos.
As I began to create the shape the orange alabaster it began to reveal its fiery form.
The final result was a comet blazing through the vast openness of space.
Standing more than 3 feet tall, I titled this sculpture Haley’s Comet.
