Naples Illustrated is a monthly periodical showcasing “The Good Life” in Naples FL. I was honored when they approached me for an interview and it was followed up with a very flattering article about my sculpting career. It is said that publicity never hurts and it was that article that introduced a lovely New York couple to my works that were illustrated in this article.

The couple followed up with a call and visit to my Studio and commissioned me to create a piece for their upper East Side pied-a-terre. Working with an interior designer, this couple had already selected the placement and custom pedestal for the new addition to their home.

Black chlorite, with almost glass-like appearance and blackest of black color, was selected for its highly polished finish. The size was decided and I then selected the raw stone that would fulfill these requirements.

When a piece of work is commissioned I enjoy keeping my clients abreast of the progress and through texting of photos. They, in turn, were so appreciative and excited to see the progress and they expressed that they felt the “birth” of their new addition.

Two months from “idea” to “completion” the sculpture was shipped up to its new home in NYC. The proud owners extended me an open invitation to visit with them and to enjoy my new work as much as they are!
