About a year ago I bought an orange alabaster stone which had an unusual shape. It was almost 27’’ square but only 2.5’’ thick.
So, I put it away and when I was ready, I would create something out of it. I have always had something floating around in my mind of what do with it.
It was not until the spring of this year that the idea came to me of what to create.
I wanted something light, delicate and airy to be the final result . As I began the sculpture started to take form into its final shape. It became alive and thus it became Spiral of life.
It recently won Third Prize in the Big Arts Create-Inspire-Connect Art Exhibition this October.
