Another one of my favorite sculptors was Barbara Hepworth. Her forms inspired me in many of my creations over the years. The sculpture represented here came from her influence. As I began carving this sculpture, I wanted to create something with movement and a feeling of nature. Since the stone was narrow, I was able to have two different forms one on each side, but they were actually related to each other.
The outcome was a sculpture that captured a feeling of birth of an organic form.
